Explore freedom of expression and dramatic-play in this fun two-day drama workshop - back by popular demand!
Suitable for new or returning students, our experienced tutor Tessa Mitchell will guide kids through the fundamental elements of storytelling, character building and performance, through movement, voice and imaginative creation.
We’ll have tonnes of fun with classic acting games and exercises designed to gently encourage children’s full expression of themselves. Developing confidence with the aid of puppets, favourite animal role-plays and collaboration in small groups, the young actors will create short scenes and develop YouTube video ideas together!
To wrap up on the second day, the class will culminate in a performance parade through Corban Estate Arts Centre, giving everyone the chance strut their stuff, and take a final bow.

Your Teacher
Tessa Mitchell has worked as a drama teacher with young children and teenagers for over 25 years. She has run holiday programs and drama workshops across Auckland. Tessa has worked with Isabel Fish Academy, Shine, Performance Net and The Performing Arts School.
She currently teaches for Shine Speech and Drama and has run independent drama classes at Freemans Bay Primary school for over 7 years.

- A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
- Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
- Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

- A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
- Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
- Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
