Painting is letting go!

Enjoy exploring abstract painting concepts and techniques in this long running term class with James, utilising acrylic paints, gels and additives. Over 8 weeks, create rich textures and shapes on a large-scale artwork filled with accidents, abrasions, and establishment of hidden movements.

Demonstrations and discussions will cover colour, form and composition as each week is filled with studies, discovery, and painting adventures. Acrylic paint and an initial canvas are provided; all subsequent canvases to be supplied by the participant.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

As a newcomer I thoroughly enjoyed this class and welcoming atmosphere. So much to learn and explore with all the creative possibilities that I'm back for more in 2024.

  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
