In celebration of National Poetry Day on the 25th of August, take time to explore, experiment, and learn the origins and possibilities of visual poetry.

Aided with tips and techniques in this one-day visual poetry workshop we’ll be crafting poetry then setting our words free in visual form using a variety of media including gouache, watercolour, collage, ink, and charcoal.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

I loved it loved it, as the workshop combined some of my fave things: great community & teachers, self-exploration time, writing and creating collages and visual artworks based on our own unique pieces. One art form inspires another, one woman’s story inspires another and this never ends :) Beautiful day when spirit feels alive The only thing I wish we had more time or guidance to explore in the future, of showing some of the techniques or work with watercolours, or other types of paint, crayon to create some pieces. I loved the freedom we had at the class, but I would appreciate the guidance and learning more arty skills. And lastly, can we have these classes on a regular basis please? Perhaps once a month? Thanks heaps

This was a wonderful inclusive workshop. Rachael and Miriam made us all feel capable and an inadequacies vanished. We all came away having created our own visual verse and left with a handbag of ideas for more. The highest praise I can give is, if they hold another workshop next year, I will be a starter.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.


SPECIAL ENROLMENT POLICY FOR GLASS CASTING WORKSHOPS

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
