Low Carbon Luxe exhibitor, Barbara Wheeler, is offering a 1-day workshop in hooklatch and looped hook rug making.  Learn how to design and hook a rug using discarded clothes and textiles.  Hooked rugs bring our surplus garments back into usefulness.

Day includes a visit to the Op Shop across the road to forage for rug making textiles; learn how to identify wool and the natural fibres that are best for rugs. You can also bring a wool knit garment from home to use, machine knits are best. It also includes a person introduction the Exhibition Low Carbon Luxe to look at the loop pile carpets within the show.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
