Students will learn a karakia and the tikanga of harvesting harakeke before studying plaiting techniques with different fibres on their own unique tipare (headband).

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

Loved the class. Thought the tutors were really neat. Really proud of the plaits and tīpare woven. Leant what the flax flowers were called. Found the weaving tricky but able to do with encouragement and support from tutor. Repeated back positive comments made from tutor. Thanks for a fun day creating

ADULTS, YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S CLASSES/WORKSHOPS ENROLMENT POLICY

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.


SPECIAL ENROLMENT POLICY FOR GLASS CASTING WORKSHOPS

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
