Calling all young performers, musicians, singers, rappers, poets and spoken word artists! 

Corban Estate Arts Centre is thrilled to offer a group of budding artists the opportunity to partake in the first ever Word-Up Wānanga. Over a dedicated weekend on-site, you will work collaboratively with a group of renowned artist mentors to develop your creative practice, creative writing, and performance skills.

Learning from some of these masters in the industry, the group will gain the tools and inspiration to develop a spoken word poem, song, rap, or creative performance with confidence. Concluding in a public performance night, Word-Up Walks, participants will have the opportunity to share their art and performance onstage.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

I loved being able to take part in this amazing course. I experienced new levels of music and poetry and if I had a second chance to do it again I would 100% take that chance.

ADULTS, YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S CLASSES/WORKSHOPS ENROLMENT POLICY

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.


SPECIAL ENROLMENT POLICY FOR GLASS CASTING WORKSHOPS

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
