Spend an inspiring weekend with Sally Barron, where you will develop landscape painting techniques to depict a moment in time that is meaningful to you. Using photographs that capture your scene as a starting point, you will develop various painterly techniques in a variety of mediums to produce semi-abstract studies. 

Sally will teach you about the use of colour, tone and composition in painting and will guide you through creating your unique finished work.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

This class exceeded my expectations. Sally is an excellent teacher who had planned the class well teaching us the basics of setting up a palette, how to hold your brush, what to look for when deciding what to paint and many more techniques. I liked how she brought the class together for general knowledge and then continuously checked in with student to provide helpful guidance and encouragement. The best two day class I've had for quite a while.

A wonderful inspirational course. Sally is a marvelous tutor. She shared her knowledge so openly and warmly, encouraging and supporting us to dive in and push ourselves. I'm so excited to have done this course and thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore landscape, memory, and colour ,or just to have some fun.

A wonderful weekend of freedom to explore expression in landscape through the medium of oils. Sally quietly enabled us to produce a canvas, attending to techniques of tone and form. Thank you!

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
