Drawing can often be a small scale, intricate and intimate process. In this two day workshop, you will embrace drawing on a large scale pushing the boundaries of what we consider as drawing. You will be experimenting with different mark-making methodologies and visual recording processes in order to translate your ideas into large-scale works.


You will learn how to prepare your chosen working surfaces including canvas, a variety of paper weights and even found materials. Apply a range of materials in your drawing process, aiming to complete at least one large scale drawing-based artwork.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

Han generously shared approaches to using media that were fresh and new. She introduced us to a wide variety of materials, so that everyone in the class was able to leave with a rich experience of ideas and techniques that we can continue to explore for months. She paced the course perfectly, packing the first day full of exploration and techniques, then allowing the second day for more highly individualised, extended work. Han provided personalised support and encouragement to all students present. I loved this course! It was the catalyst I needed to refresh and extend my practice. Thank you Han.

This was excellent, an exciting and action packed drawing workshop. The tutor was a kind, helpful and open to share all her expertise. The exercising were well ordered to maximize our time and ability to complete work. Lots of exciting experimentation with materials. I was thrilled with the outcomes and feel like I have a whole new set of skills to continue exploring.

  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
