Explore the art of relief glass casting in this educational and fun workshop.

Catering for ALL levels, learn the basics of the lost wax method, creating beautiful simple relief glasswork. Work with wax, clay and a variety of materials to explore different methods of shape construction. Build moulds, developing an understanding of positive and negative space over the weekend. After works have been fired students will reconnect for a final morning of de-moulding, cleaning and polishing creations.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

This has got to be the best glass casting workshop ever. I have wanted to learn this method of glass casting for so long and I have finally got the chance to learn it. This hands-on workshop was easy to follow and understand thanks to Sofia's amazing detailed instructions. She all made us feel so capable with her very friendly, positive and motivating approach. Thanks so much Corbans Estate Art Centre for making this workshop possible. I would personally attend any of Sofia's workshop again, as, I learnt so much. Sophia is so knowledgeable and loves to share her love of Glass casting. Thanks so much Sofia. Tess :) 's

Fantastic weekend glass workshop with the awesome Sofia Athineou. Perfect for total beginners or those with some knowledge of the glass casting process. Lovely location at Corban Estate and with great facilities. Bring your ideas and get creative :-)

I really enjoyed learning glass casting. Sofia was so cheerful, knowledgeable & supportive. I highly recommend this workshop. It's fun, challenging & satisfying. I made a beautiful tree for my mum & we both love it. It looks luminescent in her window.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking. Part Payment options are available at time of booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 10 days before the workshop commences results in a full refund of amount paid MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 10 days or on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given. You may nominate someone else to take your place before the class starts.
